Modernization of AV systems in two auditoriums, creating modern lecture spaces and implementing a videoconferencing system in the Senate Chamber

The State University of Applied Sciences in Włocławek (PANS) was established in 2002 and is the only university of applied sciences in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The institution offers education across 16 degree programs and 30 specializations, organized within four faculties. One of the university’s key strengths is its strong focus on practical education, preparing students for the demands of the modern job market.
For nearly twenty years, PANS has participated in international exchange programs for students, academic staff and administrative personnel through the Erasmus Programme. In addition, its digital university management and learning systems enable students to stay connected with the institution from virtually anywhere in the world.
The objective of the project was to modernize two auditoriums and transform them into modern lecture spaces capable of supporting the university’s educational mission. The client was looking for professional-grade solutions that would deliver outstanding audio and video quality for both teaching and presentations.
An additional requirement was the implementation of a videoconferencing system in the Senate Chamber, enabling meetings and discussions to be conducted in a hybrid format, with seamless participation for both in-room and remote attendees.
The challenge in this implementation was the need to adapt the executive designs to the existing audiovisual infrastructure, as well as the historic nature of the Senate Chamber.
The A+V team conducted a detailed site survey and technology audit to assess installation possibilities, identify potential risks and evaluate any constraints resulting from the characteristics of the facility. Based on these findings, we designed a fully customized audiovisual system tailored to the university’s needs, with intuitive control provided through a portable touch panel.
In the new AV environment at PANS in Włocławek, video signal distribution is based on an IP infrastructure powered by Crestron DM NVX technology. This approach enables future system scalability, remote management and the addition of new functionalities, including automated control of lighting, air conditioning and window blinds.
Thanks to the modernization project, the State University of Applied Sciences in Włocławek now benefits from modern audiovisual systems that deliver high-quality audio and video experiences. The improvements have been well received by both students and lecturers, particularly those who remember the limitations of the previous solutions. The ability to control the AV system through a touch panel customized with the university’s branding provides a professional user experience while remaining simple and intuitive to operate.
To ensure the system could be used effectively and deliver its full educational value, A+V provided dedicated training for the university’s technical staff. The project is covered by a three-year warranty and support program, during which A+V specialists oversee the operation of the audiovisual systems and perform regular maintenance inspections.
The installed AV infrastructure gives the university the flexibility to scale, manage and expand the system in the future. Remote administration capabilities and the possibility of adding new functionalities ensure that the solution can evolve alongside the institution’s needs. While quality and reliability were key priorities throughout the project, ease of use was equally important from the client’s perspective. All project objectives were successfully achieved, resulting in a modernization that delivers both immediate benefits and long-term value.
Modernising the auditorium and the Senate Chamber was an important step towards modern higher education for us.
