A multifunctional Townhall in your workplace

A Townhall space can be just a larger open area. But it can also be a place that immediately sets the standard, showing how your company approaches meetings, communication, and the visitor experience.

From an AV integrator’s perspective, a Townhall combines three key functions: a representative first-impression area, a space for internal meetings, and an event stage. That is why, when we upgraded the Townhall in our A+V office, we did not start with technology. We started with a goal: it should look professional, work without stress, and be ready for client demos at any time. How we upgraded the Townhall at A+V?

New display system – dual screens

The first change focused on visuals, because they define quality within the first seconds. Instead of a projector and a single screen, we implemented two displays. This gives the space much greater flexibility – you can present content while simultaneously showing branding, messages, or video materials.
Most importantly, the image remains clear regardless of lighting conditions. There is no need to darken the room, no compromise on quality and the result looks modern and “broadcast-ready”. Exactly as a representative space should.

Hybrid communication and meetings

The second pillar is hybrid communication. A Townhall should support both in-person meetings and remote participation, where online attendees feel fully engaged. We implemented a modern video conferencing system with a PTZ camera. It delivers high-quality video and works naturally – the presenter is always clearly visible, and camera framing follows the dynamics of the meeting.

As a result, companies can host quarterly updates, large presentations, or partner meetings without any sense of improvisation. Remote participants see a professional setup – not a random laptop camera view.

Professional audio system

The third key element is audio. Many organisations invest in video first and only later realise that without high-quality sound, meetings lose their flow and effectiveness. In our case, the audio system remained premium, but we redesigned the speaker layout to ensure even sound coverage across the entire space. Whether someone is near the reception, close to the stage, or at the back of the Townhall – they hear everything clearly.

We also added Bluetooth audio, enabling quick wireless playback from a laptop without cables or adapters. It is a small change that saves a significant amount of time in daily use.

The real upgrade – predefined usage scenarios

The biggest value of this upgrade is not a single device, but how the space works in different scenarios. A Townhall should adapt throughout the day: welcoming guests in the morning, hosting meetings during the day, and transforming into an event space in the evening.

That is why we designed predefined modes that can be activated automatically or with a single tap on the control panel. The user does not need to think about system setup, they simply choose the goal, and the technology adjusts itself.

Lobby Mode

Lobby Mode creates a strong first impression and a consistent atmosphere. When activated, it sets lighting (including stage lighting), background audio at the right level, and multimedia content displayed across two screens.

It works like a digital reception: informing visitors, setting the tone, and reinforcing your brand. During office tours, content playlists can be quickly adjusted from a wireless panel to match the conversation. Afterwards, the system automatically returns to the default setup, so the space is always ready.

Concert Mode

Concert Mode turns the Townhall into an event stage and demo space. The system adjusts lighting presets, activates effects, changes audio levels, and displays dynamic content such as photos and videos.

This mode is ideal for demonstrating how integrated AV systems can create engaging experiences. Once finished, the system automatically returns to its default settings – no risk of leftover configurations affecting the next meeting.

Ad Hoc Mode

Ad Hoc Mode is designed for quick, spontaneous presentations. Activated via a dedicated button at reception, it instantly prepares the space with a welcome screen including date, time, and branding.

Users get a clear, simple way to start presenting, via USB-C or wirelessly. Even first-time visitors can run a presentation without technical support. At the same time, the space remains active, the second screen can still display lobby content, so the environment stays visually consistent.

Video Conferencing Mode (VC)

VC Mode transforms the Townhall into a fully functional large-scale meeting space. Lighting is automatically adjusted to ensure a professional camera image, and meetings are launched directly from the conferencing panel.

Content is split across two screens, one for presentations, one for remote participants. Ceiling microphones capture voices, the camera follows the speaker, and audio is distributed through the sound system. The result is simple: hybrid meetings feel like real events, not just calls from a laptop.

Intuitive control system

For all of this to work seamlessly, control must be simple. That is why we implemented both wall-mounted keypads for quick adjustments and a wireless touch panel with a custom interface for full control over lighting, audio, and scenarios.

We also developed a mobile app that allows users to adjust lighting and select presentation sources directly from their phone. This improves comfort, speeds up meeting start times, and removes the common question: Who knows how to start this?
