Challenge

Wrocław’s most iconic landmark

For Wrocław, Centennial Hall is what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris – a symbol of the city, recognised not only across Poland but throughout Europe. It is a landmark deeply connected to the history of Wrocław, its identity, and the collective memory of its residents. At the same time, it remains an important venue for cultural, social, and business events. That is why creating the exhibition at the Centennial Hall Visitor Centre was a unique challenge for us. It required balancing respect for the site’s heritage with a modern and engaging approach to telling its story.

Solution

A multimedia exhibition that educates through engagement

The Centennial Hall Visitor Centre is an educational space that presents the history of one of Wrocław’s most important landmarks in a modern and accessible way – from the origins of its construction and its transformation over the years to inspiring visions of future architecture. As the Visitor Centre itself describes, the exhibition also introduces visitors to the world of tomorrow’s architectural concepts, making it essential to use solutions that not only present information but actively engage visitors and encourage exploration.

The exhibition incorporates a wide range of media and interactive experiences, including touchscreens and interactive maps, an interactive floor, architectural models, more than 600 photographs and visualisations, as well as games and educational activities designed for both younger and adult audiences. Our role was to support this narrative with carefully selected audiovisual systems that present the story of Centennial Hall and the surrounding Exhibition Grounds in an engaging, intuitive, and visually cohesive way.

A light and sound show brought to life through projection mapping

The Visitor Centre was conceived as a space dedicated to educational activities exploring history, architecture, and an interdisciplinary perspective on our changing world. For this reason, it was essential to create an infrastructure capable of supporting multiple forms of visitor engagement – from traditional guided tours and interactive experiences to educational programmes and workshops. The exhibition is complemented by a gallery space and a network of screens located throughout the foyers of Centennial Hall. One of its most spectacular attractions is a light and sound show created using projection mapping technology, presented beneath the building’s iconic dome.

Accessibility was also a key consideration throughout the project. The exhibition includes solutions designed for visitors with disabilities, including Braille books, a Braille reader and audio guides for visually impaired guests. By combining multimedia technologies, interactivity, visual content, sound, and thoughtfully designed exhibition spaces, the Visitor Centre has become a place where the story of this UNESCO-listed landmark can be explored in a way that is engaging, accessible, and memorable.

Effect

A must-visit destination in Wrocław

After many years, Centennial Hall – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, underwent a comprehensive renovation. The surrounding area was also transformed, further enhancing the appeal of this iconic landmark. As one of Wrocław’s most visited destinations for both residents and tourists, it now offers visitors an opportunity not only to enjoy the site itself but also to gain a deeper understanding of its history and significance, combining education with an engaging visitor experience.
