About the idea of the Crestron competition
The Crestron DM NVX Technology Awards is not just a competition, it is a celebration of the groundbreaking technology that has revolutionized the AV market, but also a tribute to the brand partners who have spread the technology. The name refers to the spectacular success of the DM NVX® AV-over-IP platform, which has reached one million deployments worldwide in just seven years. The technology enables the transmission of 4K video and high-quality audio with virtually zero latency, which is used in the most demanding installations.
Projects from all around the world competed in this year’s competition, divided into eight strategic categories, including a special category for the most unique projects.
Groundbreaking project in the service of healthcare
The Silesian Center for Heart Diseases (SCHD) in Zabrze has completed a strategic project to modernize its educational infrastructure, implementing an advanced audio-visual system. The investment, implemented in cooperation with A+V using Crestron solutions, significantly improves the process of educating medical staff in cardiac surgery and demonstrates the application of the DM NVX system in medical conditions.
The implemented technological solution enables the transmission of high-quality video and audio from operating rooms in real time. The system, designed in accordance with strict requirements for the security and confidentiality of medical data, provides students with direct access to the surgical process while fully maintaining standards for the protection of patient rights.
This implementation represents the next step in the development of SCHD – a center with an established position in Polish cardiac surgery, known for performing the first successful heart transplant in Poland in 1985 by Professor Zbigniew Religa. The investment in state-of-the-art audio-visual infrastructure positions SCHD among the leading educational and medical institutions, effectively combining clinical excellence with innovative educational methods.
Currently, Crestron is also running a campaign targeting the healthcare sector (Crestron Healthcare Solutions) to educate and demonstrate how technological capabilities can facilitate and influence the education of future generations of doctors around the world.
