In mid-June, the European Council held its first meeting in the newly renovated conference room in the prestigious Europa Building. Following four months of intensive modernisation works, the space was officially brought into operation.
We are proud to announce that the A+V Europe team had the honour of contributing to this exceptional project, taking responsibility for a key area of the technology infrastructure, with a particular focus on the advanced display system. Our involvement was based on close cooperation with the project’s main contractor – Telmaco and successful collaboration with other leading European companies.

The modernisation works covered the main conference room, the most important meeting space in the Europa Building and arguably one of the most significant conference rooms in the entire European Union. The room is designed to accommodate 27 participants – the heads of state or government of all EU Member States.
In addition, 26 workstations are located behind the seats at the main table for personnel supporting the proceedings, primarily interpreters. The technological scope of the project included the installation of a new Televic conference and sound reinforcement system, camera servicing and replacement, as well as a comprehensive redesign and modernisation of the AV system. This also involved the complete replacement of the audiovisual equipment installed in the racks.

The first meeting held in the newly renovated space brought together key international leaders, including António Costa, President of the European Council, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine. The event ran exceptionally smoothly, and the new conference room exceeded the expectations of EU leaders in terms of both comfort and audiovisual performance.
The seamless and reliable operation of the audiovisual systems during a meeting of such importance is the greatest reward for the dedication and hard work invested in the project. This implementation is an excellent example of what can be achieved when clients, suppliers, AV integrators and technical support teams work together towards a shared objective.

This impressive achievement would not have been possible without the creativity and expertise of the technical teams responsible for the modernisation, the knowledge of experienced suppliers and the outstanding work of the conference support technicians who ensured the reliability of the event. We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Telmaco and everyone involved in this remarkable project.
