Each room is equipped with a presentation system based on a high-resolution WUXGA laser projector with a brightness of 5,000 lumens. The projected image is displayed on a motorized projection screen concealed within the suspended ceiling.

Content can be displayed from multiple sources, including the computer located at the lecturer’s podium and user devices connected via the desk-mounted connectivity panel, such as laptops, visualizers and microscopes. The system can also display video signals received from other rooms or videoconferencing sessions.

A key feature of the audiovisual solution is its support for interactive teaching and presentations. Thanks to the lecturer’s monitor located at the podium, equipped with a touch overlay, and a graphics processor with annotation capabilities, instructors can add notes and annotations in real time directly onto content displayed from a computer, visualizer or microscope. These annotations are instantly presented on the large screen, creating a more engaging learning experience for students.

In addition, both the annotated content and the lecturer’s audio can be captured and recorded using a dedicated recording and streaming system. The resulting materials can be used as educational resources for the university’s e-learning platform or streamed directly through the videoconferencing system during remote lectures and hybrid learning sessions.

Audio coverage throughout all rooms is provided by screen-adjacent speaker systems, ensuring clear and consistent sound reproduction. Audio sources include a lecturer microphone mounted on a gooseneck stand at the podium, a wireless headset microphone that allows presenters to move freely and conduct activities such as medical simulations hands-free, as well as the room computer and any additional audio sources connected through the desk-mounted connectivity panel.

This flexible audio infrastructure supports a wide range of teaching scenarios, from traditional lectures to interactive demonstrations and practical training sessions.

The AV system was designed with a high degree of automation. Whenever an input signal is detected, the system powers on automatically, while periods of inactivity trigger an automatic transition to standby mode. For advanced operation and control, each room is equipped with a 10.1-inch touch panel located at the lecturer’s desk.

The touch panel is connected to control processors housed in a centralized rack cabinet located in the server room. Due to the requirement for flexible audio and video signal switching across multiple rooms, the core of the audiovisual infrastructure is a modular AV signal distribution matrix. This platform enables routing of any AV source to any destination within the system, uncompressed transmission of audio and video signals between rooms over standard network cabling, intuitive control of AV devices and lecture recording capabilities.

The system was also designed with future expansion in mind, allowing additional rooms, videoconferencing codecs and other technologies to be integrated as requirements evolve.

Given the need for continuous and long-duration operation, the project was based on professional-grade AV equipment known for its reliability, operational stability and energy efficiency. At the same time, the user experience was intentionally simplified to ensure that presentations, recordings and content sharing can be launched quickly and intuitively, without requiring lecturers to have specialist knowledge of audiovisual technologies.
