2016 Łańcut
The history of the Sokół Hotel in the city of Łańcut dates back to the end of the 19th century when the new building became home to a branch of the Sokół Gymnastics Society. As years passed, the purpose of the building has been changing: it was a theatre and a cinema, among other functions. Despite subsequent renovations, the building’s condition deteriorated over the years. Finally, a decision was made to carry out its major refurbishment and change its function once again. And so, early in 2016, a luxury hotel with a SPA complex was opened there, a project to which we contributed as well.
The main challenge we faced when designing AV systems for the Sokół hotel was to create an atmospheric lighting system compatible with the luxurious interior design. We achieved this goal by setting up two separate systems controlled in the Dali standard – one for spaces on the ground floor: the banquet hall, restaurant, reception area and lobby, and the other for rooms on two underground stories of the building: SPA and Wellness space, a conference room and a disco room. Both lighting systems can be used for gradual and atmospheric dimming and brightening of light in individual areas of the building. In addition, we have installed carefully selected illumination in the hotel lobby’s ceiling with triangular coffers. This created an amazing light mosaic effect, fitting perfectly with the geometric pattern of the floor tiles. Sixteen pre-programmed light scenes can be easily activated by means of a touch panel by selecting an appropriate picture. The system can also be controlled from wall-mounted keyboards with specially engraved buttons.
Another important task was to install equipment in the banquet hall so it could be turned into a conference space. The solutions we applied helped create a multifunctional room satisfying all the requirements of a modern conference facility. With a projection screen lowered from the ceiling and a projector mounted on a lift, the room’s function can be changed without affecting its style. To reduce the amount of wiring, we used the HDBaseT technology for simultaneous transmission of audio, video and control over long distances without compression using a single twisted pair cable. The controlled curtains in the windows stop daylight from getting into the room, which is extremely important in case of large-format projections. The room systems are controlled using a touch panel and a wall-mounted Crestron keyboard. With easily activated pre-programmed scenarios, the room can be adapted quickly and easily depending on the User’s needs.
In the basement, we have created a multimedia conference room. The high-quality projector combined with a pull-down screen create a simple AV system that is ideal for a small presentation space. No windows and appropriate lighting create good conditions for such projections. As the system’s control is intuitive, hotel guests can use the room even without prior training or assistance from staff.
Our last task was to design an appropriate sound system. The system was to be installed in and around the hotel building. We proposed a solution that was both cost-effective and compliant with all the sound quality and weather durability standards required of such a system.
Sokol Wellness & SPA is a perfect place for trainings, conferences, ceremonies, and team-building stays. Modern and flexible audio-visual facilities are another asset of the venue and we are proud that our hard work has contributed to the success of the hotel.
